Website Development Services

When the time comes to plan and develop your online presence, it makes sense to thoroughly plan each step, to ensure the end result meets the needs of your business, and those of your customers.

SpidersNet will guide you through this process to ensure we have the full picture of what your aims and objectives are in this regard.

The following provides an overview of the steps required in successfully developing a Website that meets the requirements of all stakeholders and end users.

1. Requirements Definition
2. Storyboarding/Graphics
3. Coding Development
4. Testing
5. Amendments History
6. Live Launch
7. Ongoing Support

1.Requirements Definition

To begin with, we'll ask you some questions relating to your business or organisation, your customers, your products and services, your target audience, your globality(international reach) and specific questions relating to the required functionality of your project.

We then document these initial findings in a manner representative of these outcomes, and submit these to our client for amendment and refinement.

Once we have an agreed upon Requirements Definition Document in place, we can proceed with the graphic and coding phase of Website development.

2. Storyboarding/Graphics

Based on requirements specified by the client, our graphic artist will produce concept drafts for the clients comments, until we arrive at a design look and feel that best suits their business or organisation.

In addition to designing the graphic elements of the project, storyboarding also includes diagramatic representation of the informational design structure to be employed in the project.

This allows both the client and SpidersNet to ensure the site once developed, will delivery exactly what the online user needs, in the most user-friendly and effective way possible.

Once storyboarding is completed, we move on to the Coding Development stage.

3. Coding Development

Coding development involves programming and project management staff actually building the code that will make the Website function as required. This may be a simple promotional type Website, or a fully dynamic, client-maintainable E-Commerce application.

Development times vary depending upon the complexity of the programming involved, with average projects taking from 1-2 months to develop from Requirements Definition, through to completion.

4. Testing

Throughout the Coding Development process, each functionality is tested to ensure that it meets the specified requirements, while also allowing the client the opportunity to ensure the requirements agreed upon, are effective in meeting the aims and objectives of the project.

Should the client note anything that may require improvement or refinement of specification/change to original specifications, these changes can be implemented as part ofd the Amendments History.

5. Amendments History

Throughout the development process, once Requirements Definition is agreed upon, changes to original specifications are documented in an "Amendments History".

This allows both the client and the developers a guideline as to what items/functionalities may have changed as a result of refinement occurring during development.

6. Live Launch

Once the project has been fully developed and tested, by both the developers and the client, the Website is "Set Live" on the World Wide web, and becomes available to the general browsing public.

7. Ongoing Support

Ongoing support is available for further refinement, additions to or maintenance of the Website, as may be requested by the client.

Many Websites we develop are now fully content maintainable by the client, which means the client rarely needs to outsource future maintenance to SpidersNet. This significantly reduces their expenditure in maintaining an up-to-date Website, and we actively encourage this development method, as the end result is saving the client money on Website Maintenance.

Client-maintainable Websites cost a little more to develop, but thereafter, save the client money year after year in reduced outsourced maintenance costs.
